Lodging:
Teams participating in the Showcase must
book lodging through the Showcase.
Please contact Lodging Coordinator Alan at
alan@titanlodging.com.
We have reserved a block of rooms to meet
our showcase needs throughout the year, even at times that rooms are scarce
in the area. However, in order to maintain our relationships with these
locations, we do need to ensure that reserved room blocks are utilized. We
appreciate your cooperation with our booking policies.
Rooms are at low showcase rates, and many
hotels offer amenities geared towards teams such as early morning
continental breakfasts and group discounts on team meals. Inquire about
your needs.
Acceptance:
Timely applying teams participating in MAPS
Flights and in MSSL are assured of acceptance to the Showcase.
Competitive
teams, both regional and national, that would benefit from showcase
exposure will be selectively accepted to complete the field.
U15
& U16 teams will be accepted to the Showcase as space permits.
Teams
not accepted initially will be placed on a waiting list. Entry fees will be
returned promptly to teams not ultimately accepted, upon completion of the
tournament.
NO
REFUNDS WILL BE MADE TO TEAMS WITHDRAWING AFTER ACCEPTANCE.
Competitive
Flights:
v Competitive teams participating at the Showcase will usually be bracketed in
a five-, six- or eight-team bracket.
v The five-team and six-team brackets will play a round robin flight
schedule, with results and standings posted for the flight, and awards
presented to the team that finishes with the highest point total in the
flight. (Schedules in six-team brackets will not be “balanced”, that is,
each team will play only four of the five possible opponents; however,
brackets are constructed from teams of comparable ability.)
v Eight-team brackets involve three group games and a fourth game
against the team from the other side of the bracket that finished in the
same position in group play (first, second, third or fourth). The first vs first game will be considered the championship
final. These final games will ideally be scheduled at the same time on adjacent
fields.
v The brackets used are to facilitate players advising college
evaluators when and where they will be playing. All games are set in
advance, except for the fourth game in an eight-team bracket (and those
games are still at a pre-set time and within a small range of possible
fields).
v Brackets are created with attention to the competitive level and
geographic diversity of the teams involved. Not all teams will (or can) be
invited to participate in Bracket competition, and such flights are not essential
for the purposes of the Showcase (which is to provide an opportunity to
participate for as many quality college-player-laden teams as reasonably
possible). The decisions of the Competition and
Scheduling Committee in creating such brackets is final.
Weather
and other uncontrollable conditions:
In
the event of modifications or cancellations, the Committee’s determination
on format change and the amount of refund, if any, is final.

IMPORTANT
POINTS TO REMEMBER ABOUT THE SELECTION PROCESS
Provide
as much meaningful information about your team as possible, including
recent records, participation in State Cup and Regional competition,
records in recent major tournaments, etc.
Please
advise us of highly competitive leagues in which the team
participates. For example, many
teams play in MAPS Flights of CJYSA that have selective entry criteria and
strong competition.
The
tournament reserves the right to contact State Associations, league officials
and club officials to obtain additional information about applicants.
The
Player Profile information must be submitted. Tentative team acceptances are contingent
upon player profile information being supplied online. Space
will be provided at the tournament for teams to display more detailed
player profile information that teams print and bring with them (you must
provide your own . Nonetheless, experience shows that coaches reference the
tournament-supplied Player Profile books first and foremost during games as
they incorporate primary information in an organized manner that coaches
have come to rely upon.
